Quick Start

This guide walks you through the complete setup process, from creating your account to running your first command in your design software.

Prerequisites

  • One of the supported design applications installed (Revit, AutoCAD, or Rhino)
  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari)
  • An internet connection

Step 1: Create Your Account

Open the Algomim app

Go to chat.algomim.com in your browser.

Sign up

Click Sign Up and create your account using email or Google sign-in.

Choose a plan

Select a plan that fits your needs. See Plans & Pricing for details.

Step 2: Install the Plugin

Download and install the plugin for your design software:

Revit

2024 / 2025 / 2026

AutoCAD

2023 / 2024 / 2025 / 2026

Rhino

Rhino 7 / 8
Plugin installers are available from the Settings page in the Algomim web app, or from the plugin-specific pages linked above.

Step 3: Connect Your Software

Open the web app

Go to chat.algomim.com and start a new chat.

Open your design software

Launch Revit, AutoCAD, or Rhino with the Algomim plugin installed.

Generate a PIN

In the web app, click the Connect button (plug icon) in the chat header. A 6-digit PIN will appear.

Enter the PIN in your software

In your design software, run the Algomim connect command and enter the PIN:
  • Revit: Algomim tab → Connect
  • AutoCAD: Type ALGOMIM in the command line
  • Rhino: Type Algomim in the command line

Confirm connection

The web app will show your software as connected. You’re ready to go.
The PIN expires after 5 minutes. If it expires, simply generate a new one.

Step 4: Try Your First Command

With your software connected, type a message in the chat. Here are some ideas to try: 
List all walls in the active view with their types and lengths

Create a 3D view named "Overview" showing the entire model

Color all doors red in the current view
Always save your work before running commands. Algomim executes operations directly in your model. You can use Undo (Ctrl+Z) to reverse most changes.
